In his quest to reach the 600-homer plateau, advancing from 597 to 598 took almost one full month for Griffey. Sixth on the all-time list, he came into the night without a long ball since April 23 -- a 90 at-bat stretch that was his longest without going deep since 1990 (101 at-bats).
