Redbirds back to .500
By Kyle Parkinson / Memphis Redbirds

NASHVILLE, TN - The Memphis Redbirds used a strong outing from Anthony Reyes to beat Nashville 4-1 Tuesday night at Greer Stadium. Reyes pitched a season-high five innings and allowed one run on three hits. The right-hander fanned seven and walked three to earn his first win with the 'Birds this season. Joe Mather drove in a pair of runs with two RBI-singles and Mark Johnson scored twice in the victory.

Jason Motte earned his second save of the year striking out two in the final frame. Sounds starter Lindsay Gulin was pinned with the loss after giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits with six strikeouts across five innings.

Notes: Memphis played their fourth consecutive errorless game Tuesday night to establish a new team-best...David Freese equaled a team-high with four strikeouts tying Brian Barden, who fanned four times at New Orleans April 10...the 'Birds stranded a season-high 13 batters on the night leaving the bases loaded twice.

Wednesday's Starters:
Memphis - RHP P.J. Walters (1-0, 5-06)
Nashville - RHP Jeff Weaver (1-1, 6.35)
