Joe Mather homered in the eighth inning to power the Redbirds past the visiting Oklahoma RedHawks, 1-0. Former fifth-round pick Mitchell Boggs allowed two hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts over seven innings for Memphis.

Allen Craig went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs, but the Cardinals were beaten by the visiting Tulsa Drillers, 9-5, and suffered their 10th straight defeat. Former second-round pick Jesse Todd yielded four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings for Springfield.
