Default Needing clarification (long)

Hello all,

I recently signed my son up to play in a sanction LL. i accepted to help coach base on my knowledge of the game, thinking that playing in a sanctioned league would alleviate problems face in other leagues.

my main question is this, can a sanctioned LL adopt rules that either contradict LL or add to LL rules?

example 1: when a player shows up late, I read that LL says you can add that player in at the bottom of the lineup (mgr discretion). this league says that you can up until the completion of the 2nd inn.

example 2: that do not allowing sliding into first base, due to no break away bases. I can understand this rule, however, nothing of the sort in LL handbook. also, i have noticed that other teams have done this and were not called out.

example 3: now after a fiasco in our last game, they are implementing a rule that you cannot argue with the umpire or you forfeit the game. i think they are doing this because they cannot justify their call or don't know the rules.

i am aware that the officers have had LL training, however we do have another coach in the league who says you can and can't do things, w/o referring to LL handbook. officials say, well "coach x" says this is the way it is, I say so what, show me in the rule book.

it seems that the league looks to one coach for answers when they themselves can answer. what options does my team coaches have in order to level the playing field for our boys, we know that every time we step on to the field we are marked and will be scrutinized for every little thing.

thanks much, sorry so long.
