Game One- Josh Fogg (0-0) vs Kyle Kendrick (0-0)

There was a lot of small ball played in this one and the Reds offense kept it fairly close. The truth of the matter is though that Fogg pitched just 4 innings giving up 6 earned runs. Including that and outside of that Utley and Burrell owned this game. Together they combined for 4 hits and 5 rbi's. A high note on the loss though was Burtons solid 2 innings...he looked great striking out 4 of 6. And even Weathers had an improvement over his previous showing. Reds lose this one 8-4.

Red's Notable Player: Ken Griffey Jr goes 2 for 4 with 2 rbi's.

Game Two- Aaron Harang (0-1) vs Adam Eaton (0-0)

Overview: Some reds small ball puts us up 2-0 early. The Utely, Burrell, and Howard combo works its magic to put the Phillies up by one going into the bottom of the 8th. After a double play Patterson comes to bat and knocks a solo one left center! Tie game going into the 9th. And all we do is leave it to Cordero after that...isnt it nice it seems that easy? lol Not something many Reds fans are use to. We couldn't have asked for a much better ninth inning...and much to many peoples surprise with guys on second and third Paul Bako hits in the game winning run!

After Harangs loss in the opener he goes 7 innings giving up 2 earned runs and struck out 6. A very nice/well needed return.

Red's Notable Players: Corey Patterson Game tying HR, Cordero with the save, and Bako with the finisher.

Game Three- Edinson Volquez (0-0) vs Brett Myers (0-0)

Overview: The Red's absolutely dominated this game from start to finish. Griffey, Keppinger, and Patterson continue to pull this team through. It was an 8-2 win on the game but this combo has given the Red's a 4-2 record on the start of this early season. Not only did Griffey hit his first HR of the season (still waiting on Dunn) but Keppinger was AMAZING yet again and Patterson continues to be a consistent force to be reckoned with in this line up.

Red's Notable Players: Griffey, Patterson, Keppinger as stated above.

Game Four- Bronson Arroyo (0-0) vs Cole Hamels (0-1)

Overview: Rollins (1st), Burrell (2nd), Burrell (3rd), Jenkins (3rd). Thats the list of homeruns (innings) by the Phillies, the only points scored by the Phillies, and the two innings that determined the game. All 4 homeruns off of Arroyo and a two run small ball inning in the first by the Reds. Philly pitching was great and Reds relief pitching was very impressive. A 5-2 game till the bottom 9th were two outs were quickly handed out then an error and wild pitch helped score a run making it a 5-3 game. With men on and a chance to win Valentin strikeouts looking to end the game. It happens...Valentin is still a very reliable ph...but boy we almost had three from the Phillies!

Arroyo's mixed game...5.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R/ER, 0 BB, 6 SO, 4 HR, and a 5.91 ERA

Red's Notable Players: Red's Relief Pitchers! (How odd is that) They kept this one from being a complete embarrassment. We tip our hats to you Affeldt, Coffey, Mercker!
